“Talk is Cheap…”
17Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them. John 13:17 NLT
Wow! I’ve put a lot in front of you this week! Hopefully, you’ve been experiencing some changes—you’ve seen your ACTIONS becoming more and more like Jesus, and you’ve ENJOYED the process. In this week’s final Scripture, Jesus reminds us once again that it isn’t enough for us to know His commands (that’s what “these things” are in John 13:17), we will only receive God’s blessings when we DO them. That brings us back to our first day with Jesus reminding us that it isn’t enough to say, “Lord, Lord!” we must actually DO God’s will in order to receive the blessing of heaven. I pray that as we have considered the vital importance of hiding God’s word in our hearts in our spare moments throughout the day, and then DOING them as opportunities have arrived that you’ve experienced some renewed joy in DOING God’s will and receiving His blessing!

What do you need to DO now, to see that what we’ve discussed and done this week, becomes part of your everyday walk with Jesus? Take some time and reflect on this, and then commit in prayer to DOING what it takes.
LOOKING AHEAD: Starting TOMORROW, January 20, we will be embarking on a 40 Day Spiritual Journey to a more Generous Life! The journey includes 40 days of readings, so we will be using them in our daily time of reading, reflection and action. PLEASE participate in this life-changing opportunity to become more like Jesus in the area of generosity. I believe this 40 day series has the potential to bring major changes to each and every one of us, as we internalize the Scriptures we read each day, and make them part of our heart-held beliefs!
