A note about online study
14 But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. 15 You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. 17 It is God's way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do.
FIVE USES OF SCRIPTURE
Teaches us what is true;
Makes us realize what is wrong in our lives;
Straightens us out;
Teaches us to do what is right; and
Is God’s way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do
Everything in life comes down to: TRUST or CONTROL!
I will TRUST God and His word for EVERY aspect of my faith and daily life.
Monday: To Benefit From the Teachings of Scripture We Must Trust Them and Live Them Out!
Read 2 Timothy 3:14-17 through several times. Underline each occurrence of the words: faithful, true, trust(ing), teach/taught. Then consider this:
Tuesday: All Scripture Is Inspired By God, and Is Useful to Teach Us!
Read Psalm 119:9-6.
Wednesday: The Bible Teaches Us What Is True!
Read: John 8:25-31.
Thursday: The Bible Makes Us Realize What Is Wrong In Our Lives!
Read Ephesians 5:1-15. As you read Paul’s list of what NOT to do as we live our lives as followers of Jesus, consider which ones you need to have God address right now, and take time in prayer asking God to forgive you, and to empower you to live in faithfulness!
Friday: The Bible Straightens Us Out, and Teaches Us To DO What Is Right!
Read Psalm 119:105
Wherever you are “going” today, remember that God’s word is the “lamp” and “light” we need!
Saturday: The Bible Is God’s Way of Preparing Us In Every Way, Fully Equipped For Every Good Thing God Wants Us To Do!
Read Ephesians 4:11-16, which has been called by some “God’s Magna Carta* for the Church.” Find out what God has done to see that we will be fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do, AND how all of us together reflect the image of Jesus!
* The Magna Carta (Great Charter) is the charter of liberty and political rights obtained from King John of England by his rebellious barons at Runnymede in 1215, which came to be seen as the primary document of English constitutional practice.
