A note about online study
5 The next day the council of all the rulers and elders and teachers of religious law met in Jerusalem. 6 Annas the high priest was there, along with Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and other relatives of the high priest. 7 They brought in the two disciples and demanded, "By what power, or in whose name, have you done this?" 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Leaders and elders of our nation, 9 are we being questioned because we've done a good deed for a crippled man? Do you want to know how he was healed? 10 Let me clearly state to you and to all the people of Israel that he was healed in the name and power of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, the man you crucified, but whom God raised from the dead. 11 For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, 'The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.' 12 There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them."
Four reasons of thankfulness:
Jesus’ name – gives us power and authority
Jesus’ crucifixion – saves us from our sins
Jesus’ resurrection – defeats death and hell
Eternal life – available to all who believe in the name of Jesus
I will READ God’s word and PRAY for at least ten minutes everyday this week, and then I will TELL others what God shows me!
Monday: Read Acts 1:8. What does Jesus say every believer must have BEFORE he or she can be a witness of what Jesus has done?
Always remember Jesus’ order: WAIT. RECEIVE POWER (from the Holy Spirit). GO – and tell the Good News to others!
Tuesday: Read Romans 10:14-15. What must happen in order for a person to believe? What is the blessing we receive when we TELL others of God’s salvation through Jesus?
As you pray today, pray for ONE, specific person who needs to know Jesus, and also that God will give you the opportunity to tell that person about Jesus!
Wednesday: Read 1 Corinthians 1:26-29. What does the Apostle Paul say about the “condition” of most people who come to know Jesus? Why do you think that God chose to use people without any special prior wisdom or skill to tell others about Jesus? How does this make you feel? Why?
Thursday: Read 2 Corinthians 2:14-16. What does the Apostle Paul say we are to the world? Notice that how we “smell” to others depends on their condition – whether they are being saved or perishing. What can you do today to see that your “aroma” is truly that of Jesus?
Friday: Read Galatians 6:7-10. What does the Apostle Paul remind us will happen if we continue to faithfully tell others or “plant” God’s word in others?
Pray for God to send you out boldly into His harvest field, which is ready and waiting for us to go and TELL others about Jesus!
Saturday: NOTE: The Bible readings this week come from successive books of the New Testament starting in Acts. That is to show us that in EVERY book of the New Testament we find reason for going and TELLing others about Jesus! Today prepare your heart for gathering in worship tomorrow with brothers and sisters in Jesus, and pray for opportunities to tell others about Jesus today and everyday!
