A Couple Sundays ago in worship at New Life, I introduced the "Deliverance Formula." The formula is a simple, mathematic calculation of how much money we need to see God provide for our Phase 1 building process before we are delivered and can actually start building. I provided the number in terms of a Plan A, which would me the Phase 1 building would be completed, and Plan B, which would mean it would be partially incomplete (the children's area and some of the administrative area would be incomplete when we opened the building.) After this past Sunday when $32,750 came in to the "CLUB" (Come Let Us Build) Account, the remaining "Deliverance Dollars" needed are either $534,750 for Plan A, or $465,217 for Plan B. Those numbers are getting more and more real. Do you know what I mean by that? The second number is less than twice the cost of a new, single-family home in America. When I think of a group of more than 300 followers of Jesus calling out to God in prayer and getting involved with Him in the action to provide the money needed to buy two single, family dwellings that seems so doable! Of course, in that scenario we will need to continue to provide the amount we have been providing as a congregation on a weekly basis over the next 20 years to pay the mortgage, and continue to provide tithes and gifts to the sharing fund to move the ministries of New Life forward. As I think about the phrase "continue to provide," I am so encouraged, because for more than ten years now God has continued to provide miracles in and through New Life as we have continued to provide time, energy and money ourselves. Faithfulness can be measured in so many ways, but God tells us in Malachi, that faithfulness can actually be measured in the dollars we give to His work. I am so grateful for the faithfulness of so many of you who have continued to provide your time, energy and money believing that God would use them to move His work on earth forward through New Life as you do. He HAS. He IS. And--He WILL! There's no doubt in my mind that the dream that is New Life Christian Ministries, which we have decided will be and do all God has purposed it to be and do, will move through more difficulties, delays and dead-ends to more deliverances from God's hands, because God DOES bless faithfulness! God DOES participate in the work of His people, and God DOES answer prayers! Sunday was such a great day in the life of New Life! As we worshiped together at the primary school and then as we broke ground together at 127 Knoch Road, the Spirit was tangibly present. He is leading and guiding us, and in the very, near future, I believe with all my heart, we will see the deliverance we have been praying for in the specific area of the Phase 1 building at Knoch Road, and the dirt will be broken in earnest as that building becomes a reality--and a major tool--for sharing the new life of Jesus Christ with the world--ONE person at a time! |
