Tomorrow is Father's Day, the day our nation sets aside to honor our dads. It's also a Sunday, a day we who follow Jesus set aside every week to gather with Jesus followers and those who are seeking Jesus to praise Him, the Spirit and His Heavenly Father, and to enjoy fellowship with one another.  How will You show Your love and honor to Your Heavenly Father tomorrow?

My suggestion would be the only gift God, the Father, wants is you and I.  He wants you and me to invest time with Him, to give Him the glory due His name.  I would go so far as to say, God wants us to worship Him together tomorrow.  How can I say that?  Isn't that just a plug for people to be at New Life tomorrow?  No it isn't.  While I DO hope that each of you joins us at New Life tomorrow, I have something much bigger in mind in my suggestion.  I truly believe God deserves our honor 24/7/365.  Yet, I also believe He calls us to gather in His name in corporate worship.  The author of the Hebrews reminded us not to abandon gathering together as some had already done.  Why?  Because when we gather in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, something indescribable happens.  Jesus tells us He is with us in a special way in those gatherings. 

As I've been learning throughout my life, but particularly over the past decade or so, nothing brings as much joy to a dad as having his children willingly invest time with Him.  While children spell love T-I-M-E, so do we adults.  I believe so does our Heavenly Father.  If you're going to be in the area tomorrow, join us at 8:45 or 10:15 at New Life to celebrate our Heavenly Father's love for us, Jesus salvation in our lives, and the Holy Spirit's presence among us.  If you're not going to be in town tomorrow, find another local congregation and worship with them.  God will enjoy it wherever You worship Him!

Let's pray:  Heavenly Father,  Thank You for Your amazing love!  Fill us with Your Holy Spirit that we may return that love to You and to others we meet today and every day. Prepare our hearts and lives to worship You today and motivate us to worship You tomorrow with brothers and sisters through Your Son, Jesus, in whose name we pray.  Amen.
