Those of you who know me, know I'm not much for tradition when it comes to worship, but World Communion Sunday is one of my favorite worship experiences.  I'm always inspired by thinking of Christians around the world uniting to celebrate the Lord's Supper, and to remember what draws us together as Jesus' followers--His victory over sin and death!  I know that Christians around the world celebrate the Lord's Supper every Sunday, but World Communion Sunday draws attention to our common faith, and our common belief that nothing we could ever do will get us into heaven, only what Jesus has already done!

Since I found out as a little boy, that salvation was by grace alone through faith, I have always been amazed that Jesus--a perfect, sinless man, who is also God, would give up EVERYTHING so I could be in relationship with Him, and not just me but EVERYONE!  As we prepare for worship every Sunday, but particularly on World Communion Sunday, we prepare with attitudes of gratitude, amazement and an eagerness to celebrate with others who have received the great gift of salvation, and those who may receive it tomorrow!  As you go about the day, remember how great God's love is for you and what a blessing it is to be able to share that love with others

Let's pray:  Heavenly Father, Thank You for the amazing gift of salvation in and through Jesus and Him alone!  Fill us with the Holy Spirit so we may rejoice in that gift today and everyday whether our worship is on our own or with others who share that common salvation.  This we pray in Jesus' name.  Amen.
