The Apostle Paul told us that as followers of Jesus our hope will never lead to disappointment, because the source of that hope is God Himself:  ⁵And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. 

 It doesn't matter what our situation may be at this moment, God knows what it is and God is going to give us hope--the ultimate assurance of victory--as we trust in Him.  Notice that hope travels through the Holy Spirit, who God gives to us when we trust in Jesus, and comes from hearts filled with God's love.  That means the source of our hope is inexhaustible, since God IS love, and He will never run short of love to fill our hearts.  We may turn from Him and stop the flow of that love, but God's love never fails, and God's hope is ours for the asking.

When the Apostle Paul was speaking about the gifts of the Spirit, he said that only three would abide or remain or last into eternity:  faith, hope and love.  Take a moment right now, and ask God to fill you anew with His Spirit that you may experience and live His faith, hope and love in every situation you'll face today.

Let's pray:  Heavenly Father, Thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit to fill all of us who have trusted in Your Son, Jesus.  Fill us anew right now, that we may know Your faith, hope and love in our lives, and be overcomers to Your glory and praise.  This we ask in Jesus' name.  Amen.
