Today's post is short and focused--Jim Marshall, my oldest brother, is having surgery for pancreatic cancer today. Please, lift him in prayer. Jim is not a believer, and while I spoke with him again yesterday about his need for God, he told me he was going with what has got him through life this far. My request is that you pray for Jim's heart to change and for his body to be healed. I believe in the God who has revealed Himself in creation, through Jesus, the Christ, and through the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit. I believe He answers prayer. Thus, I have hope--the ultimate assurance of victory in every situation. Thank you for praying! Heavenly Father, I thank You that You hear our prayers before we ask them. I pray for Jim and for all who will face surgery today with or without You at the center of their lives. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit that we may live boldly for You and trust You as the ultimate source of victory in every situation. This we pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
